Book Description |
A majority of Chinese classical poetry translated into English and published by the literary circle had been limited to poetry of the Tang Dynasty. This edition of poetry translated by Dr. Liu Shih-shun, covers the poems of forty-eight poets, including Fu Xuan (217-278), and Tao Qian (365-427) of the Jin Dynasty, to the Xiong Xi-ling (1870-1937) of modern time, covering over eighteen centuries of classical Chinese poetry. Because of Dr. Liu Shih-shun’s erudite knowledge of the Chinese classics and thorough understanding of western literature, completed this unique translation, and may well be rated as a rare piece of translated classical Chinese literature.
