Book Description |
The goal of English education is to develop students' ability to communicate in English in the classroom. However, too many mixed-level classes and the pressure of national examinations made it too difficult to implement in senior high school students. As a result, communicating through the advance technology such as computer chat room are seem as a simple and effective method for learning knowledge beyond the limit of time and space.
Using the online class management platform “Moodle”, this book intends to answer several questions: (1) Can high school students accept and use Moodle for online discussion? (2) Does online discussion and practice benefits high school students’ English writing ability? (3) What’s the pattern between knowledge constriction and discourse interaction? (4) To see if there’s difference when teachers involve in the online discussions. Furthermore, in order to benefit future research on computer-mediated communication, this book also illustrates the relevant theories and pedagogical applications.
