「國家書店」為行政院文化部委託民間單位統籌營運政府出版品的專案，提供包括實體門市及網路書店購書的機制與服務。97年度經公開評選後正式由秀威資訊科技股份有限公司負責營運。
「國家書店」的經營有以下特色：
- 「國家書店」是台灣唯一專賣政府出版品的門市。
- 「國家書店」將提供隨需列印（POD,Print On Demand）的服務，凡機關已經絕版或供書不及的出版品，將透過此一機制供書，以確保政府寶貴的知識資產不至絕版。
- 「國家書店」也同時設有網路書店，除可提供政府出版品線上查詢、部份內容瀏覽及訂購中華民國政府各級機關政府出版品外，海內外使用者更可以利用此平台所設置的數位版權管理系統（DRM,Digital Contents Management）來瀏覽、租借或購買電子書（e-Books）。
